Authorities in Daviess County are reporting the arrest of a man in connection with the weekend death of another man at Lock Springs.

Charges of second-degree murder have been filed against 25-year-old Aaron Thomas Tucker of Lock Springs.

A news release from Sheriff Ben Becerra reports 48-year-old Michael Chad Estabrook died early Saturday as a result of an alleged physical altercation that occurred in a residence, near Lake Street, in the community of Lock Springs.

It was 5:20 Saturday morning when Daviess County 911 received an emergency call referencing an individual at Lock Springs who was reportedly in cardiac arrest.

Shortly after arrival by the Daviess County Community Ambulance and Jamesport First Responders, members of the crew learned their patient had been knocked unconscious during a physical altercation. Michael Estabrook was transported to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe where he was pronounced dead.

During the investigation by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, Aaron Tucker was interviewed and subsequently arrested for assaulting Estabrook. Information from Sheriff Becerra said the investigation indicates Tucker struck Estrabrook rendering him unconscious, resulting in death. Other details on the alleged incident were not released as the sheriff’s office noted the murder investigation is continuing.

Aaron Tucker of Lock Springs is held at the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail at Pattonsburg on $100,000 cash bond. Tucker was arraigned Tuesday in the associate division of Daviess County Circuit Court. The next court date is not listed online.
