2 killed, 1 injured in Sunday night crash in Randolph County

Two people were killed and a third individual was injured Sunday night in a Randolph County accident.

The highway patrol identified the fatality victims as 47-year-old John Birmingham of Bucklin and 31-year-old Kayla Cox of Salisbury. Receiving moderate injuries was the driver of a pickup, 67-year-old David Dunn of Huntsville who was taken to University Hospital in Columbia.

Vehicles driven by David Dunn and Kayla Cox were approaching each other on Highway 24 when the one driven by Ms. Cox apparently crossed the center line where the collision occurred with the oncoming pickup. After impact, both vehicles came to a stop off the roadway.

None of the three persons was using a seat belt according to the report. The vehicle, in which two people died, was demolished with extensive damage was listed for the pickup truck.
