Two residents of Brookfield were injured Monday afternoon in a single-vehicle, rollover, accident one mile east of Wheeling.
The driver of a sports utility vehicle, 21-year-old Mackenzy Royal, received minor injuries and his passenger, 23-year-old Keyera Adams, sustained serious injuries. Royal sought treatment at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe while Adams sought treatment at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City.
The sports utility vehicle was westbound when it went off the left side of Highway 36. The driver over-corrected when the vehicle returned to the road and overturned.
The vehicle was demolished and the report noted the driver was using a seat belt while the passenger was not.
Assistance was provided by the Linn County Sheriff’s Department and the Meadville Fire Department.
