A Bethany teen was transported to Harrison County Community Hospital Friday night after striking a deer on Highway 136, three miles west of Mt. Moriah.

Alexia Brogan, age 15, was traveling east when she swerved to miss a deer in the roadway. She then ran off the south side of the road, striking an embankment, causing the 2003 GMC Envoy to come to rest on it’s side.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reported minor injuries for Ms. Brogan, who was wearing a seat belt.

The vehicle received extensive damage in the accident.

The patrol was assisted in the accident investigation by the Bethany police department.
