Unionville man life-flighted after crash in Putnam County; Accused of DWI

A Unionville man was injured early this morning when the van he was driving crossed the center line of Highway 149, went off the left side of the road and struck a tree.

The vehicle was demolished in the 12:30 am accident in eastern Putnam County.

The highway reports 57-year-old Albert Suitt of Unionville was flown by medical helicopter to Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville with moderate injuries.

An arrest report said Albert Suitt is accused of a driving while intoxicated – aggravated offender – as well as careless and imprudent driving involving an accident.

He was wearing a seat belt.
