Two injured in Monday afternoon accident in Chillicothe

Chillicothe police report two persons were taken to a hospital following a two vehicle injury accident Monday afternoon. It happened at Washington and Polk Streets.

A written report from Chillicothe Police said a vehicle driven by James Smith was northbound on Washington Street, when he allegedly failed to stop at a red traffic light. There was a collision with an eastbound vehicle driven by Joshua Miller.

Both Smith and Miller received what police called moderate injuries. They were taken to Hedrick Medical Center by the Chillicothe Department of Emergency Services. Smith was cited for failing to stop at a red light resulting in a traffic accident.

No addresses or ages were provided for the two drivers.
