Two hurt in Caldwell County crash

An injury accident late last night in Caldwell County has injured two.

One mile north of Polo, two vehicles were westbound on Highway 116 when, according to the highway patrol, one struck the rear of the other at the junction with Highway 13.

The patrol listed injuries as moderate for 72-year-old Mayme Pilger of Polo who was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center. The report shows injuries as minor for 54-year- old William Rea of Jamesport who was taken to the Ray County Hospital of Richmond.

An officer reported the sports utility vehicle driven by Ms. Pilger was slowing at the intersection when it was struck from behind by a van.

Both vehicles were demolished in 11:15 p.m. accident and both drivers were using seat belts.
