Officers were installed during last Thursday’s meeting of the Trenton Rotary Club.

They will serve a one-year term during the 2016-17 program year.

Gary Jordan will be president of the club. Other officers for the coming year are Teresa Cross as vice president; and Elizabeth Gibson, secretary. A treasurer is  to be announced later. Steve Taylor is the outgoing president and remains a member of the Rotary Club board of directors.

Committee chairmen were asked to fill out their committees for the coming year.

One of the changes will be to have one special projects committee which will have several members working on various club activities. These include the annual fish fry, Shoes for Orphan Souls and Trenton’s Got Talent.

It also was announced today that another Trenton High School student, Emma Gilham has expressed an interest in being a Rotary International Exchange student during the 2017-18 school year. The paperwork effort has begun for her to live in a foreign country as an exchange student. The Trenton club would be her local sponsor.

Her brother, Ellis Gilham, was a Rotary exchange student in India during the past year.
