Trenton R-9 students to begin Spring testing

Trenton R-9 students will begin Spring testing this month throughout the district.

Eleventh graders will take the ACT Plus Writing assessment April 19 with Individual student reports to be sent to Trenton R-9’s Test Supervisor for distribution Students may also create an ACT account to receive scores electronically.

High school students will take End of Course exams beginning April 20.

The online exams will be given in Algebra 1, English 2, Biology, and Government as well as Algebra 2 for students who took Algebra 1 as eighth graders.

Students in grades three through eight will start the Missouri Assessment Program Grade-Level Assessments April 25 with students to be given online assessments in communication arts and mathematics.

Students in grades five through eight will also be given a science assessment.

The End of Course and Missouri Assessment Program assessments will provide information that contributes to decisions concerning individual students, groups of students, and educational programs.

Second-graders will take the Terra Nova test the week of April 25 through 28 with the achievement test to evaluate students reading and math knowledge.

Kindergarten students will participate in the Cognitive Abilities test May 2 through 5.

The group test will assess students abilities in reasoning and problem solving using verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal symbols.

This assessment will help educators make student placement decisions, such as selecting students for gifted and talented programs.

The Trenton R-9 School District will also be conducting preschool and kindergarten screenings May 11, 12, and 15.
