Trenton man dies after police respond to call

At about 2:45 am. this Friday morning, February 26th, the Trenton Police Department responded to 2201 Lulu street in reference to a male “tearing up the house, and, cutting himself.”

Upon arrival, officers took into custody JR Archuleta. Shortly thereafter, Archuleta stopped breathing.

Lifesaving efforts were initiated by a member of the Grundy County Ambulance service and Archuleta was transported to Wright Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Chief Tommy Wright of the Trenton Police Department requested the Missouri State Highway Patrol conduct an investigation into Archuleta’s death, and, has released all reports, documents, and body camera footage of the incident to the patrol.

Wright stated that his request for the investigation is to “ensure transparency, accountability as well as having an unbiased investigation into Archuleta’s death.”
