A Trenton man was injured last night in an accident approximately seven miles north of Trenton.

The highway patrol listed injuries as moderate for 40-year-old Kenton Whitt who was taken by ambulance to Wright Memorial Hospital.

The highway patrol has accused Kenton Whitt of driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving resulting in an accident, and no seat belt.

The accident report indicates Whitt was southbound when he apparently lost control and the pickup he was driving began skidding. It traveled off the west side of Highway 65, down an embankment, and into a ravine striking some large rocks.

The report noted the pickup then went airborne and struck some trees coming to a stop in the ravine, facing east on its tailgate.

The pickup was demolished in the accident at 7:50 Sunday night.

(The story has been edited to correct an error in Whitt’s age from 45 to 40)
