Trenton Hy-Vee to offer freezer meal workshops

A Trenton Hy-Vee “Freezer Meal Workshop” is to be held July 11th at the store in the cafeteria area  from 6 to 8 p.m. and July 23rd  from 9 to 11 a.m.

Students will choose 5 of the 10 recipes listed for a cost of $75. Hy-Vee will do all the prep and shopping for students, who will attend the event and put together the ingredients.

This month Hy-vee has added a couple of grilled recipes for students to choose from. At the end of the event, you will have five entrees ready to take home, freeze and put in the crock pot or grill any time you like for a quick and easy meal.  For more information contact HyVee dietician Cindy Eivins. 

Another class Trenton Hy-Vee is offering is “Lil’ Chefs Cooking” . This is scheduled for Friday, July 15th at the store in the cafeteria  area at 4 p.m.  Students will make three healthy snack items and enjoy a cool beverage. The theme this month “Celebrating Summer.”  Students will be making a frosted lemonade beverage, sink or swim trail mix, tasty tuna boats and fruity yogurt cones. Kids need to bring an apron and a parent to join the fun. Cost is $5 per child or $10 per family.
