The Trenton High School football and basketball cheerleaders earned high ranks at the Universal Cheerleaders Association Camp at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville.

The cheerleaders received gold ribbons for their stunt sequence and pyramid and dance as well as a superior squad award, both of which are the highest awards that can be earned.

They also placed second in their division for stunt incorporation as well as in extreme routine dance and stunting.

Five Trenton High School cheerleaders received the All-American Cheerleader Award.

They were seniors Abbie Shuler and Thelma Guerro, junior Sarah Jordan, and freshmen Emma Curtis and Lexi Gott.

The five girls performed a cheer, dance, and a toe touch in front of a panel of judges.

The squad, as a whole, worked on various new stunts and pyramids to showcase on the sidelines and at halftime performances.

About 660 athletes and 60 coaches from four states attended the stunt and tumble cheerleading camp.
