Trenton firefighters were dispatched to a west-side residence Saturday afternoon for a reported garage fire.
They arrived to find the homeowner attempting to douse the blaze with a garden hose.
The fire was quickly extinguished, which appeared to have originated from trash cans on the porch.
There was damage to some siding, a privacy fence, as well as a covered walkway.
