Trenton city sales tax receipts in the first seven months of this fiscal year are down more than two percent for general purposes, capital projects, and parks compared to the same period a year ago.

Income from the city sales tax for general purposes totals more than $432,000 which is down over $9,900 compared to last year at this time.

Revenue from the city sales tax for capital projects exceeds $215,000 which is a drop of nearly $5,400.

Income from the city sales tax for parks is nearly $201,000, down $4,700.

The Trenton city sales tax for firefighting equipment, training, and services approved by voters in April did not go into effect until October 1, so, thus far, only a small amount of the fire tax has gone through the collection and distribution process. Just $7.85 was received in the November payment.
