Trenton city sales tax receipts are down compared to one-year ago

Trenton city sales tax receipts in the first two months of the fiscal year are down more than ten percent for general purposes and capital projects and down more than seven percent for parks compared to the same period a year ago.

Income from the city sales tax for general purposes exceeds $121,000 which is down more than $14,000 from last year at this time.

Receipts from the city sales tax for capital projects are near $61,000 which is down about $7,200.

Income from the parks tax is near $57,000 which is down $4,600 compared to the first two months of last fiscal year.

The Trenton city sales tax for firefighting equipment, training, and services did not go into effect until last October 1. Receipts from that tax exceed $28,000 for the first two months of this fiscal year which encompass May and June.
