HOUSTON (UPI) — Barney Ronald Fuller Jr., who pleaded guilty to a May 2003 shooting spree that left two neighbors dead, was executed by lethal injection late Wednesday, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice said.

Fuller, 53, was pronounced dead at 7:01 p.m. Moments before the lethal injection was administered, he said, “I don’t have anything to say. You can proceed Warden (James) Jones.”

Fuller was sentenced to death for killing Annette and Nathan Copeland during a shooting spree. The couple’s 14-year-old son was injured. Their 9-year-old daughter was not harmed. Prosecutors said the Copelands and Fuller got into a dispute after he allegedly shot an electric transformer. After the couple called the police, Fuller became incensed, burst into their home and opened fire. He later called 911 and confessed to the shooting.
