A teenage girl from Stewartsville was injured Sunday afternoon when the car she was driving struck another vehicle, four miles northeast of Maysville.

The highway patrol listed injuries as minor for 16-year-old Breauna Blanton who was taken by ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center.

A highway patrol troopers’ report said Miss Blanton was eastbound on DeKalb County Route W. A minivan was facing north in a private drive, attempting to turn west when the mini-van was hit in the front in the eastbound lane. After impact, the car crossed the center line, traveled off the north side of the road, and struck a sign before coming to a stop. The car was demolished.

The patrol said the minivan, operated by 72-year-old Bonnie Coffman of Stewartsville, received extensive damage.

Both drivers were using seat belts.
