Suddenlink has informed the city of Trenton of price increases effective December 1st.

There will be a $1.55 a month increase in the broadcast station surcharge, which covers the fees charged by broadcast television station owners.

There will be a $1.00 a month increase to the standard rate for digital video recorder video equipment.

Suddenlink says some customers who subscribe to packages, including expanded or full basic television service will see a $4.00 a month increase in the December billing cycle, while others will have the increase in 2017 depending on when they ordered the television service.

Suddenlink said the change applies to customers whose first-year promotional discount has ended. The company says, rather than an immediate move to the non-promotional rate, pricing adjustments are gradual. A similar $3.50 increase to the charge for internet service will occur starting next month depending on when the customer ordered the sService.

Suddenlink reports there will be no change to the standard rates for limited basic television service and incremental digital tiers of TV service. The changes reflect the rising costs of programming and investments Suddenlink is making in launching additional all-digital video service.
