Smithville wins individual, team titles at Cameron Golf Tournament

The Smithville Warriors shot 312 on Wednesday, scraping by runner-up Gallatin’s total of 315 and third place Cameron’s 316, in the Cameron boy’s golf tournament.  Trenton finished sixth as a team with a score of 337, while Nate Swann, with an 18 hole score of 74, finished fourth place individually.

J.D. Benbow of Smithville was individual medalist with a score of 72, with Gallatin’s Jett Simmons tying Smithville’s Jacob Majeske for second place at 73.  Tanner Smith of Lawson was fifth, with a round of 74.  Cameron had Chase Forman in sixth place at 77 and Spencer Teel, ninth at 79.

Trenton scores on the day were Corbyn Guile 86, Cree Mullenix 88, Tucker Franklin 89, and Lathan Croy at 90.  For Chillicothe, Hayden Montgomery and Peyton Moritz both shot 84, Trevor Bowling 86, Cade Snyder 87, and Jack Willard 105.  Gallatin’s scores were Bradley Rhoades 80, Logan Burns and Gabe Cole both at 81, and Wyatt Bird 91.  For Cameron, Sam Morrison and Kyler Hill both shot 80, with Tanner Slover at 84.
