The Livingston County Health Center in Chillicothe will begin a Smart Connections class series next week.

The free program from Trauma Smart will allow caregivers to connect, network, and enhance skills in a relaxed and engaging atmosphere.

The first class will be held in the Health Center classroom next Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 6:30.  Sessions will be held through March 2018.  More dates for the classes can be found online at the Livingston County Health Center website.

Topics to be covered include managing ups and downs, reading the signs, creating comfort, encouraging growth, detecting feelings, expressing feelings, blowing away worries, building a calm down spot, encouraging learning, and identifying the superhero in a child.

Maternal Child Health Coordinator Registered Nurse Mary Taylor will teach the class.

There is no cost to attend, but parents and caregivers interested in attending should visit the Livingston County Health Center’s website to register.
