A coordinator for the Serve Trenton Community service projects over the weekend, Pastor Doug Franklin, said the weekend went really well, there was a great response, and everybody worked hard.

Various work projects were scheduled in the Trenton, rural Galt, Edinburg, and Leisure Lake areas.

There were approximately 140 volunteers Saturday and an estimated 140 to 150 volunteers Sunday.

Plans call for Serve Trenton area community service projects to become an annual event, and for the Serve Trenton Facebook page to be a means to help people throughout the year.
