A resurfacing and shoulder improvement project spanning 20.5 miles in both Chariton and Randolph counties, which began last August, is about to start back up for the second and final phase.

Crews from Capital Paving and Construction of Columbia, Missouri resurfaced the portion in Randolph County during the last construction season. They are planning to begin the Chariton County portion on Monday, April 10, 2017, weather permitting.

This second phase of the project will span from Route 5 in Keytesville to the Randolph County line. The contractor plans have all work finished by the end of June.

During construction, traffic will be reduced to one lane at various locations along the project between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, with possible Saturday work, as well. Traffic control will be in place alerting motorists of the work. All work is weather permitting and could be rescheduled.
