The Sullivan County University of Missouri Extension will host a Rural Showcase in Green City next month.

The showcase will highlight local small businesses the evening of October 3 and will start with a Small Business Spotlight in the Green City City Park at 5 o’clock. A tour of the Littrell Family Farm will follow at 6 o’clock.

The Sullivan County Extension Council, the Sullivan County Cattlemen, and Smithfield Foods will also provide a free meal at 7 o’clock.

The Littrell family has a farm-to-fork operation raising one of the largest herds of mule foot hogs in the country and marketing the meat.

Extension Off-Campus Operations Director Mark Stewart will speak on the changes coming to Extension and how the changes will enhance services to rural northeast Missourians.

Northeast Region Regional Director Shelley Bush-Rowe will also be in attendance.

Call the Sullivan County Extension Office at 660-265-4541 for more information.
