The Grundy County Nursing Home District’s Board of Directors has approved a $5.00 per day increase in room rates at Sunnyview Nursing Home and Apartments.  The new daily nursing home rates, effective July 1st, will be $152.00 for private rooms and $147.00 for semi-private rooms.  The daily rates for the residential care apartments are $90.00 for single unit A, $93.00 for single unit B, $108.00 for single unit C, and $180.00 for double unit apartments.

The Nursing Home District Board of Directors has approved a budget for the 2016-2017 fiscal year, including employee wage increases ranging from zero increase to up to 5 percent, based upon merit.

The employee health insurance providing is being changed from Blue Cross and Blue Shield to United Health Care.  Ms. Youtsey said the United Health Care bid was a 0.9 percent increase over the current provider’s premiums.  She indicated that Blue Cross bid had a cost increase of nearly 11 1/2 percent.  Ms. Youtsey claims the change will save Sunnyview about $61,000.  The employee cost for the base plan remains at $87.00 per month for what was described as “comprehensive medical coverage”.

Low bids were accepted for propane and trash service.  Landes Oil will provide propane at nearly $1.10 per gallon.  WCA will provide trash service at nearly $697 per month.
