Richmond, Missouri teen dies in crash after being ejected from vehicle

The Highway Patrol reports one person from Richmond in Clay County was killed, and another injured last night when a car failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off Route MM southwest of Lawson where it struck two trees.

A passenger in the vehicle, 19-year-old Luke Hubbard, was ejected from the car.  A Lawson fire-paramedic pronounced Hubbard dead at the scene just after 7 o’clock Sunday night.

Hubbard was not using a seat belt according to the accident report

The driver of the car, 20-year-old Alisha Weir of Richmond received what the patrol called serious injuries. She was transported last evening to Liberty Hospital.

The car was demolished.
