Two officers of Rapid Removal Disposal appeared yesterday in Grundy County Circuit Court and entered a not guilty plea, and had their cases continued for a court appearance next month at Trenton.
57-year-old James Watje and 47-year-old Cheri Kelley, both of Kansas City, are facing multiple criminal counts after an investigation led by an Assistant Attorney General.
The charges, filed in Grundy County in September of last year include six counts of criminal disposal of solid waste. Both also face five counts of forgery.
After entering pleas of not guilty, the cases were added to the January 12 docket in Division One of the Circuit Court.
Documents on file alleged the offenses occurred on various dates in 2012 and 2013.
