Public Service Commission sets public hearing schedule in Grain Belt Express case

The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold local public hearings in December in a case filed by Grain Belt Express Clean Line LLC (Grain Belt Express). 

Grain Belt Express seeks a certificate of convenience and necessity to construct, own, operate and maintain a high voltage, direct current transmission line and associated facilities within Buchanan, Clinton, Caldwell, Carroll, Chariton, Randolph, Monroe and Ralls counties in Missouri as well as an associated converter station in Ralls County. 

The local public hearing schedule appears below.

December 7, 2016—Monroe City.  Knights of Columbus Hall, 424 South Locust.  The local public hearing will begin at 12:00 p.m.*

December 7, 2016—Hannibal.  Theater Auditorium, Hannibal-LaGrange University, 2800 Palmyra Road.  The local public hearing will begin at 6:00 p.m.

December 8, 2016—Marceline.  Walsworth Community Center, 124 East RitchieThe local public hearing will begin at 12:00 p.m.*

December 8, 2016—Moberly.  Moberly Municipal Auditorium, 201 West Rollins.  The local public hearing will begin at 6:00 p.m.

December 13, 2016—Cameron.  Cameron Community Center, 915 Ashland Avenue.  The local public hearing will begin at 12:00 p.m.*

December 13, 2016—Faucett.  Mid-Buchanan High School, Multipurpose Room, 3221 SE Route H.   The local public hearing will begin at 6:00 p.m.

December 14, 2016—Polo.  Community Center at Stagecoach Park, 1010 Main Street.  The local public hearing will begin at 12:00 p.m.*

December 14, 2016—Carrollton.  Rupe Community Center, 710 Harvest Hills Drive.  The local public hearing will begin at 6:00 p.m.

*-In order to be able to move equipment to the next local public hearing that same day, 12:00 p.m. local public hearings will end no later than 4:00 p.m.

In order that all witnesses have an opportunity to testify before the Commission, witnesses will be limited to five minutes of testimony and they will be asked to testify only once during the eight local public hearings held in this case.

Formal evidentiary hearings, in this case, are scheduled for March 20-24, 2017, in Room 310 of the Governor Office Building, 200 Madison Street, Jefferson City, Missouri. 

The local public hearings and formal evidentiary hearings will be held in facilities that meet the accessibility requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.  Any person who needs additional accommodations to participate in these hearings should call the Public Service Commission’s hotline at 1-800-392-4211 (voice) or Relay Missouri at 711 before the hearings.
