Princeton woman hurt in two-car crash south of Spickard

The Highway Patrol reports a Princeton woman sustained moderate injuries as the result of a two-vehicle accident south of Spickard early Friday afternoon.

Eighty-two-year-old Carol Branam traveled north on U. S. 65 when she allegedly crossed the center line and struck the driver’s side rear of a southbound straight truck driven by 49-year-old William Tefteller of Gladstone.

Branam’s minivan traveled off the west side of the road, returned to the road, and came to a rest on the shoulder of northbound U. S. 65 receiving extensive damage. The truck came to a controlled stop on the southbound shoulder sustaining moderate damage.

An ambulance transported Branam to Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.

The Patrol reports both drivers wore seat belts at the time of the accident and the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office and Spickard First Responders assisted.
