Several arrests are in Monday morning’s report from the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department.

The first case involves that of 33 year old James LeRoy Houk of Princeton, who has been indicted by a Grundy County grand jury on felony theft charges. Houk is accused of taking U-S currency from Coon Manufacturing of Spickard between February and April of last year. Bond was set at $25,000. With the indictment, Houk’s case was moved to Thursday (April 14th) in Division One of Grundy County Circuit Court.  In a related arrest, 41 year old Lois Elaine Crouse of Trenton faces charges of hindering prosecution on Saturday by allegedly telling law officers she had no knowledge of Houk’s whereabouts. Bond for Ms. Crouse is $10,000.  She will appear Tuesday in Associate Division of Circuit Court.

Two Spickard women were arrested Friday and face drug-related charges.  Forty-eight year old Carol Smart and 34 year old Jennifer Webb are due in Associate Division of Circuit Court on Tuesday.  Four charges were filed against Carol Smart: felony possession of methamphetamine and felony possession of drug paraphernalia listed as smoking devices and syringes. She also faces two misdemeanor counts: possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia listed as a pipe and rolling papers. Bonds for Ms. Smart total $30,000.  Felony charges filed against Jennifer Webb are tampering with physical evidence by attempting to conceal a smoking pipe so as to hinder a sheriff’s office investigation.  She is also accused of possession of drug paraphernalia identified as smoking devices and syringes. Bond for Ms. Webb is $20,000.
