Princeton eighth grader Robert Esposito was knocked out of the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. in the second round on Wednesday.

Esposito was competing in the national event after winning the Northwest Missouri regional spelling bee in March.  The regional bee was sponsored by the St. Joseph News-Press, which paid for Esposito’s trip to the National Spelling Bee.
