Pleasant View Board of Education meets, look forward to 2016-2017 school year

The Pleasant View Board of Education has offered contracts for next school year to all full-time probationary teachers at the school.

A part-time speech implementer at Pleasant View, Kimberly Ray, was employed as a second grade teacher.  Courtney Deaver of Trenton was hired as a paraprofessional/classroom aide for preschool.  

Resignations were accepted from Angie Chenoweth as assistant cook and Taylor Turner as a preschool paraprofessional and classroom aide.  Both resignations are effective at the end of this school year.

 

The board approved field trips, with 1st through 4th graders touring a marble factory in Bonner Springs, Kansas called Moon Marble.  First through fourth graders will also go to Gladys Grimes Park in Trenton.

Fifth through eighth graders will see attractions in Hannibal.  Fifth and sixth graders will attend a water festival presented by University of Missouri Extension at the Barton Farm Campus of North Central Missouri College in Trenton.

The school calendar the 2016-2017 year calls for classes to begin on August 24th.  The final day of classes in 2017 will be May 12th.

Preschool tuition was discussed, but no decision was made.

One bid was received for the school audit.  More information will be sought regarding the proposal.
