A Novinger resident was hurt on Saturday afternoon when the sport utility vehicle she was driving went off a road north of Novinger and hit a tree.

Forty-three year old Julia Connelly was taken to Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, with what the Highway Patrol called moderate injuries.

The accident was three miles north of Novinger on Bethel Ridge Road.  The westbound SUV traveled off the noth side of the road and hit a tree, demolishing the SUV.

It was unknown whether Ms. Connelly was wearing a seat belt.  The Highway Patrol said she was accused of driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving resulting in an injury accident, and driving while revoked.
