North Mercer Board of Education approves contracts

The North Mercer School Board approved offering contracts to non-certified staff and a bid to purchase buses at its latest meeting.

Non-certified staff members will receive a 3.3% salary increase, which is the same as certified staff members.

The board approved a bid from Midwest Bus Sales which has the district purchasing five buses and start providing transportation services next school year.

Julie Henley, Peggy Johnson, and Justin Holt took the oath of office to become official board members. Their terms will last three years.

The board elected Tracy Meinecke as President, Chris Main as Vice President, and Julie Graham as Secretary/Treasurer.

The board offered a half-time mathematics contract to Kim Palmer for next school year who will retire as the district’s principal at the end of this school year.

Members of the senior class presented their itinerary for a trip to Daytona Beach, Florida April 30 through May 4.

It was noted three staff members will receive years of service recognition during the awards ceremony on the last day of school.
