Newborn baby found in trash at gas station

NORTH BELLE VERNON, PA (WPXI/CNN) – A newborn baby was found inside the women’s restroom of a Pennsylvania gas station.

The mother, who is in her 20s, was traveling on the interstate with her family Saturday when she told them she felt sick. The family pulled into the BP gas station.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene where the woman claimed to have had a miscarriage. However, paramedics found the newborn, full-term baby alive in the trash can.

The baby was taken to the hospital and is reportedly doing very well.

The district attorney will decide if the mother will face any criminal charges.
