NCMC baseball swept by Carl Albert State

The North Central Missouri College baseball team played two games on Friday afternoon in Poteau, Oklahoma, suffering a doubleheader sweep against Carl Albert State Community College.

In a 3-1 loss, Drew Bunch started for the Pirates, and was strong, twirling three hitless innings with one strikeout.  Colton Divine went the middle three innings for North Central and took the loss, allowing three, walking one, and striking out two.

The Pirates only run scored in the first inning, on a Carl Albert error.  The three runs for Carl Albert State scored on a two-run homer and RBI single, all in the same inning.

NCMC lost 8-4 to Carl Albert, despite winning the hit battle 12-9.  For the Pirates, Zach Lehmann was 2 for 4, with a second inning homer.  Maverich Lourens took the loss for the Pirates, allowing five runs in 1/3 innings of work.  

North Central claimed an early 1-0 lead on a first-inning RBI single by Landon Figg, scoring Derek Hussey.  After Carl Albert scored five runs in the bottom of the first, the Pirates shaved the score to 5-2 in the 2nd inning, on Lehmann’s round tripper.  The teams traded runs in the bottom of the 2nd and top of the 3rd, making the score 6-3, with the Pirates run coming in on an RBI single by Dennis Pogue.
