Motorcycle crash injures two near Salisbury

A motorcycle accident Thursday night, July 7th, in Chariton County, injured the driver and his passenger. 

The state patrol reports 47-year-old Randall Watts of Macon received serious injuries. His passenger, 46-year-old Stacey Sipe of Excello, had moderate injuries. Both were transported to University Hospital in Columbia. 

The northbound motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve, ran off Highway 129 and was demolished. The accident location was five miles to the north of Salisbury about 10:30 Thursday night. Both riders were using safety devices. 

Assisting the highway patrol were Chariton County Sherriff’s department, first responders, and ambulance service.
