The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the North Missouri region planned for the week of July 18 – 24 from the Missouri Department of Transportation

In addition to the work listed below, there may be pothole patching, bridge deck washing, striping, brush cutting, guardrail repairs and other road work conducted throughout the region. Many of these will be moving operations and could include lane closures with delays.

Andrew County

Route 48 – CLOSED at the Platte River Bridge near Whitesville for a bridge replacement project. The road will be closed through mid-November.

Interstate 29 – NIGHT WORK southbound from Business U.S. Route 71 to 1.5 miles south of Route O (Buchanan County) for guardrail work, July 18 – 22 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly. This includes a 15-foot width restriction.

Atchison County

Route C – From the Westboro city limits to the Nodaway County line for pothole patching, July 20

I-29 – At the Rock Creek Bridge for maintenance, July 18 – 22

Buchanan County

I-29 – NIGHT WORK southbound from Business U.S. Route 71 (Andrew County) to 1.5 miles south of Route O for guardrail, work July 18 – 22 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly. This includes a 15-foot width restriction.

U.S. Route 36 – One mile west of Route AC for grading work, July 18 – 22. Work will take place between the hours of 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. nightly.

U.S. Route 36 – At the Platte River Bridge for maintenance, July 18 – 22

Route YY – The islands at the Belt Highway and Mitchell Road intersection for a resurfacing project. This project is expected to continue through September.

I-229 – Sweeping and flushing bridges, July 18 – 21

Route 116 – CLOSED from the I-29 Overpass Bridge to Route Y for a culvert replacement on July 18 at 7 a.m. This will be an around-the-clock closure, reopening on Friday, July 22 at 2:30 p.m.

Caldwell County

U.S. Route 36 in Hamilton, Monday through Friday, July 18 – 22 for a pavement repair project:

  • CLOSED from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily: both eastbound and westbound lanes. Traffic will be redirected to use the ramps at U.S. Route 36 and Route 13. Includes a 12-foot width restriction.
  • Around-the-clock closures of the east and westbound driving lanes on U.S. Route 36. The passing lanes will remain open in each direction between 5 p.m. and 9 a.m. daily

Route 13 – Narrowed to one lane at the U.S. Route 36 Overpass Bridge in Hamilton for maintenance, July 18 – 22

Chariton County

Route 5 – From Route C to Route V for pothole patching, July 18 – 22

Route ZZ – CLOSED from Parish Road to Clark Road for a culvert replacement, July 21 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

DeKalb County

Routes J and O – Pothole patching, July 18 – 22

Route D – At the Ervens Bridge for maintenance, July 19 – 22

Gentry County

Route C – CLOSED at the Weldon Branch Bridge for a bridge replacement project. The bridge could open this week.

Route C – CLOSED at the Panther Creek Bridge for a bridge replacement project. The bridge could open this week.

Route EE – Pothole patching, July 18 – 19

Route ZZ – Pothole patching, July 20 – 22

Grundy County

Route O – From Route Y to U.S. Route 65 for pothole patching, July 18 – 20

Route 146 – Pothole patching, July 20 – 22

Harrison County

Route CC – CLOSED from East 350th Street to East 360th Street for a culvert replacement, July 18, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

U.S. Route 136 – Striping, July 18 – 22

Route CC – CLOSED from East 370th Place to Route MM for a culvert replacement, July 19, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route ZZ – Pothole patching, July 20 – 22

Route 13 – One-half mile north of Route H for culvert repair, July 21

Route NN – Pothole patching, July 21 – 22

U.S. Route 69 – In the Bethany city limits at Allen Avenue for culvert repair, July 22

U.S. Route 136 – One-half mile north Route 146 for culvert repair, July 22

Holt County

I-29 – From mile marker 84 (Mound City exit) to mile marker 66 (Nodaway River Bridge) for pavement repair, July 18 – 22. This includes a 15-foot width restriction.

Linn County

Route 5 – At the Essex Bridge and Locust Creek Lowe’s Bridge for maintenance, July 19

Route WW – CLOSED from Lunar Drive to Route ZZ for a culvert replacement, July 20 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

U.S. Route 36 – From Route 139 to Crow Road for drainage work, July 20 – 21

Route 11 – CLOSED from Nile Drive to Nevada Road for a culvert replacement, July 22 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route B – At the Parson’s Creek Bridge for maintenance, July 22

Livingston County

Route 139 – CLOSED at the Sumner railroad crossing for maintenance, July 18 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Route K – At the North Fork Crooked Creek Bridge for maintenance, July 18

Route KK – At the Muddy Creek and Little Muddy Creek bridges for maintenance, July 19 – 21

Route JJ – Pothole patching, July 20 – 22

Mercer County

Route J – Drainage work, July 18 – 22

Nodaway County

Route U – CLOSED at the One Hundred and Two River Bridge for a bridge deck replacement project. The bridge will be closed through September.

Route C – From the Elmo city limits to the Atchison County line; pothole patching, July 18 – 19

U.S. Route 71 – Northbound single-lane closure at the White Cloud Creek Bridge, just north of the Andrew County line, for a bridge deck replacement project, July 18 – 22. This includes a 12-foot width restriction.

U.S. Route 71 – Striping, July 18 – 22

Route YY – Pothole patching, July 21 – 22

Putnam County

Route W – Pothole patching, July 18 – 22

Sullivan County

Route EE – CLOSED at the Medicine Creek Bridge for maintenance, July 18 – 21 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily

Route 5 – Pothole patching, July 19

Worth County

U.S. Route 169 – At the Middle Fork Grand River Bridge for maintenance, July 18 – 22. A temporary traffic signal has been installed during the project.
