Milan Wildcats suffer season-ending defeats in district quarterfinals

Two losses in Class 2, District 6 quarterfinal games on Tuesday night at Schuyler County High School in Queen City ended the basketball season at Milan High School, with the Lady 'Cats falling to #1 seeded, 25-1 Scotland County 62-31, while the Milan boys were bounced by #2 seed Marceline, 60-41.

Kenna Michael paced the Lady 'Cats attack against Scotland County with 11 points, while Calesse Bair had 20 points and Chelsea Wood 17 for Scotland County.

The other girls quarterfinal played on Tuesday night matched up Putnam County and Marceline, with the Lady Tigers downing the Lady Midets, 42-37, using a strong fourth quarter push to get into the win column.

In the Marceline boys victory over Milan, the Tigers potent combination of Daniel Corbin and Makenzie Fessler combined for 24 points.  Wyatt Bohle led Milan with 24 points.

The Scotland County boys downed Putnam County by a score of 70-57.  Caleb Doubet led the Tigers with 18 points, matched by 18 from Will Fromm.  Sturgis Knupp scored 15 for SC.  For the PC Midgets, Justin Pribyl had 16 points, while Dylan Heidenwith contributed 15.
