Man falls asleep causing crash in Harrison County

In rural Harrison county, two men from Algonquin, Illinois were in a car northbound on Interstate 35, according to the highway patrol, when the driver, 21-year-old Travis Lane, apparently fell asleep.

The car traveled off the east side of the highway and struck an embankment. Lane received minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Harrison County Community Hospital in Bethany. A passenger, 19-year-old Tyler Diehl, was not reported hurt.

Both were using safety devices. The car received minor damage in the Harrison County accident at 6:17 pm Monday.
