Fire early Wednesday, May 4th destroyed the cab portion of a tractor-trailer unit three miles west of Trenton on Highway 6.

Trenton Fire Chief Rick Morris said the cause of the blaze was unknown. Morris said he suspects it possibly could have been some type of electrical overload.

Morris explained the empty tractor trailer unit was eastbound on Highway 6 when smoke developed and the driver pulled over.

Grundy County Rural and Trenton Fire Department personnel extinguished the blaze.
