Livingston County Sheriff’s Department stays busy with many incidents

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office attempted to serve a felony arrest warrant in the 1400 block of Polk Street in Chillicothe and the suspect was not located.

Deputies informed the resident of the home of the active felony arrest warrant and requirements and later that night the LCSO along with Chillicothe Police Officers attempted to complete the fugitive investigation with another search of the same home. Upon speaking with the same resident the deputies were told the suspect was not home. A deputy heard a person scurrying in the basement and saw the fugitive exit through a basement window which resulted in a foot chase with the officers outside the home and unfortunately, the suspect eluded officers.

A report is being submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration of additional charges on the suspect.

The LCSO investigated a domestic disturbance in the 22000 block of Liv 443 near Dawn. The incident also involved a location in Chillicothe and involved custody concerns over the children. Parties were referred to their respective attorneys and court to obtain family court ordered visitation. No crime committed.

An incident report was completed on a Trenton resident failing to appear in Livingston County Associate Court.

A call of potential attempted felony assault in Utica was reported.  The incident reports show two people went to the post office in Utica and a known male came by driving fast acting threatening and attempted to strike the parked vehicle with his vehicle. Investigation continues.

A citizen attempted to report a vehicle as stolen.  The investigation shows the matter is a civil issue and not a criminal violation. The real estate property had sold and the previous owners left a junk vehicle and other junk on/about the property according to the purchaser.   The case is closed.

The LCSO has worked with the ATF on a firearm that had the serial number removed.   The investigation continues.

Reserve Deputy Sheriff/School Resource Officer Mike Lewis contacted Sheriff Cox regarding Deputy Lewis being a victim of alleged Tampering with a witness in a criminal case.

A person had been served a summons to appear in Livingston County Associate Circuit Court for an incident Deputy Lewis recently investigated in the capacity of School Resource Officer.  Allegedly an adult relative of that person contacted Deputy Lewis while off duty and threatened or implied threats to the deputy, knowing the deputy is a witness in the other investigation. The case is being investigated and a report will be submitted to the prosecuting attorney for review.

The LCSO began an investigation of littering in the 6000 block of Highway A. Potential suspect(s) have already cleaned up the mess. A report is being submitted to the prosecuting attorney for review.

 Deputy Mueller and K-9 Zaki assisted the Missouri State Highway Patrol on a vehicle stop. The out of state vehicle was found to not have any current drugs on board but was evident there had recently been drug(s) in the vehicle. The investigation continues by MSHP.

The LCSO began an investigation of a reported trespassing 1st degree in the 19000 block of Liv 304. An unknown person drove around posted private property and the investigation continues.

 

Arrests:

May 25 the LCSO responded to an incident of a suicidal person. Medical care was provided and the subject arrested on a 96-hour Court order and transferred to a treatment facility ordered by the Court.

May 25 the LCSO served a Livingston County arrest warrant on Crystal Genny Brown, 35, St. Louis, MO for alleged Probation Violation on the original conviction of Class C felony of Forgery.

May 26 a Deputy was working the Avalon area and saw a male known to have a revoked driver’s license operating an ATV on the roadways. The subject was located and arrested for driving with a revoked license and the person was found to be carrying drug paraphernalia. Deputies arrested Brian Neal Moore, 47, Avalon for the 2 allegations and transported him to the LCSO where he was processed and released on a summons.

May 27 a deputy stopped a speeding vehicle on U.S. 36 and noticed a strong odor of burning marijuana. Subsequently, the deputy arrested Branden Pei Lun Chau, 23, Overland Park Kansas for alleged drug violation(s) after the deputy recovered alleged: “Wax” or “Dab” (very potent extract from marijuana) and drug paraphernalia. Also arrested was Santiago Conde, 24, Kansas City Kansas for driving 81 in a 65.

May 27 a deputy stopped a vehicle on U.S. 36 for a traffic violation and subsequently arrested Samuel Phillip Van Horn, 26, Utica for alleged Driving While Revoked. Mr. Van Horn was later released from the LCSO on a summons.

May 28 deputies arrested Janel Lynn Hansen, 26, Chillicothe for alleged Hindering Prosecution after searching a home in the 1400 block of Polk Street.

May 28 the LCSO arrested Timothy Clarence McCray, 31, St. Joseph for alleged excessive speed of 79 in a 65 and No Valid Driver’s License-2nd Offense. Mr. McCray was processed at the LCSO and released with citations.

May 31 deputies arrested Samuel Phillip Van Horn, 26, Utica for alleged 2nd offense of driving while suspended or revoked. Mr. Van Horn was processed at the LCSO and released on a summons.

June 01 Justin Walter Clark, 40, Jamesport surrendered to the LCSO on Livingston County arrest warrants for alleged Failure to Obey a Judge’s Order on Pay or Appear. The original charges were driving without a valid license and failure to register a motor vehicle. Mr. Clark posted the $310 bond and was released from custody.

June 02 a deputy arrested Thomas William Gamble 3rd, 29, Hale on a Clinton County arrest warrant. Mr. Gamble was unable to post bond and turned over to another agency on the warrant.

June 06 a deputy conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested Steven Wayne Hurst, 25, Chillicothe for alleged Driving While Suspended 1st offense. Mr. Hurst was later released from the LCSO with a summons.

June 06 a deputy arrested Jeffery Gordon Davenport, 33, Chillicothe for alleged felony Driving While Revoked/Suspended on a traffic stop. Mr. Davenport was transferred to the custody of the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail pending formal charges being filed.

May 26 a deputy issued a St. Joseph driver a speeding citation for 80 in a 60 on U.S. 65 at Roach Lake Bridge.

May 27 a deputy issued a Kansas City Kansas driver a speeding citation for 81 in a 65 on U.S. 36 at the Grand River.

May 28 a deputy issued a Kansas City Kansas driver a speeding citation for 86 in a 65 on U.S. 36 at Liv 251.

May 28 a deputy issued a Utica driver a citation for Operating Vehicle without a Valid License.

May 30 a deputy issued an Illinois driver a speeding citation for 95 in a 65 on U.S. 36 and Liv 247.

June 01 a deputy issued a Hale driver a speeding citation for 78 in a 60 on Highway 65 at Roach Lake Bridge.

June 02 a deputy issued a Hale driver 2 citations being for alleged Driving while Revoked or Suspended and Defective Lights.

June 02 a deputy issued a Columbia driver a speeding citation for 79 in a 65 on U.S. 36 at Liv 259.

June 05 a deputy issued a Chillicothe driver a citation for Failing to Register Motor Vehicle Annually (expired February 17).

 

Additional Information:

The LCSO caused the extradition of Katrina Bledsaw from the State of Oklahoma on a Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Probation Violation on a felony drug conviction. The LCSO has submitted reports to the State of Missouri seeking $479.25 in reimbursement for costs for the extradition.

A new sex offender registering as residing in Livingston County was added to the website, www.livcoso.org. Randy Wayne Adair, 56, is now residing in Mooresville. Mr. Adair was convicted in 2001 in the State of Alabama on Federal Child Pornography Violation(s).

Currently the LCSO has 21 people in custody at the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail, 7 of which are female detainees.
