Livingston County Sheriff Steve Cox reports the sheriff’s office was dispatched to two separate incidents originating at or close to a business in the 16,000 block of Highway K near Chula.

He says one incident involved multiple individuals in an altercation. Information is being gathered on the identities of those involved as well as statements.  Cox reports the second incident involved an adult male allegedly displaying a handgun in an angry and threatening manner at multiple persons in the parking lot of the business.  He says the man allegedly discharged the firearm, but no one was injured. The suspect was gone upon law enforcement’s arrival.

The sheriff’s office and the Highway Patrol initially responded to the calls and Cox hopes the sheriff’s office concludes the investigations as soon as possible and seeks criminal charges on those responsible. He adds that this type of behavior is not wanted nor tolerated in Livingston County.

He intends for the sheriff’s office to work these and other investigations and enforcement efforts in addition to working with the Division of Liquor Control.
