The Highway Patrol reports three Sedalia residents sustained minor injuries when their vehicle overturned in Linn County Friday evening.
Sixty-seven-year-old James Deignan drove north on Missouri 5 when his pickup truck ran off the road and overturned about two miles north of Purdin, causing extensive damage to the vehicle.
The driver and his two grandchildren, 12 year old Daniel Deignan and 14 year old Mario Deignan, were transported to Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield.
The Patrol reports they all wore seat belts at the time of the accident.
The Patrol charged James Deignan with driving while intoxicated with a person less than 17 years of age in the vehicle as well as careless and imprudent driving resulting in an accident.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Browning Police Department, and Brookfield First Responders assisted.
