Laredo R-7 board of education has approved a 500 dollar increase in base salary for certified staff. That puts the base at 27 thousand, 500 dollars. One additional year for experience was added to the salary schedule.

The board agreed to continue to pay the local 40 percent share for teachers who do additional work; even though the state of Missouri is not paying anything toward the career ladder incentive program.

Approval was given to a two and a half percent raise for non-certified staff and bus drivers. Following an executive session for personnel, the Laredo board approved re-hiring nine persons as non certified staff and bus drivers. Extra duty contracts were approved for Michelle Lynch for basketball; Tammy Meeker for track and 7th and 8th grade sponsor; and Cassidy Bethards as cheer leading coach. Ethan Stewart will be the music teacher at Laredo next year in a shared position with Newtown Harris School.

A health insurance quote was accepted from the Mike Keith agency. The quote includes a three point eight percent increase in the premium.

Oaths of office were given to Kristi Urich and Sheila Thompson who were the only two persons to file for the school board. The current slate of officers was renewed.

Brad Wilford is president; Matt Foster is vice president, Jason Meeker is treasurer; Jim Marsh is MSBA delegate, and employee Mona Loyd is the secretary to the board.

Eighth grade graduation at the Laredo School is May 3rd with May 6th as the last day for classes.
