Green Hills Community Action Agency will be hosting the 3rd annual Women’s Expo on November 10th from 9am to 2pm. Location has been changed from the Ketcham Center to the Trenton High School gymnasium. To add to the TDIA Fall Festival on Saturday, September 29th at dusk, Citizens Bank & Trust will host a movie night showing ‘Big Miracle’ starring Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski. This is a family movie inspired by a true story of a family of whales trapped under the ice and an unforgettable rescue.
Movie will be shown in Sesquicentennial Park so bring your lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on.

WMH Hosts Family Health Festival

Wright Memorial Hospital hosts their annual Family Health Festival on September 29th from 7:00am to 11:00am. This year, participants can enjoy the festival at Wright Memorial (191 Iowa Blvd) instead of Ketcham Community Center.
Adults can have a Complete Metabolic Panel (CMP) for $40. Tests include the following:
Glucose
Calcium
Proteins (albumin, total protein)
Electrolytes (sodium, potassium, CO2, chloride)
Kidney tests (BUN, creatinine)
Liver tests (alkaline phosphatase, alanine amino transferase, aspartate amino transferase, bilirubin)
Lipid Panel (heart disease) – includes cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL and LDL)
CBC (anemia, infection state, and bleeding state)
Iron/transferrin (iron stores)
Hemoglobin A1c (average blood glucose for past three months)
*Additional testing for PSA (prostate) and/or TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) can be performed for an additional fee of $10 per test.

NCMC?Basketball Clinic provided by Hall of Fame Coach

Herb Webster of Kearney, a member of the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, will conduct a basketball coaching clinic on Sunday, September 30 at North Central Missouri College in Trenton. The clinic will take place from 4 till 5:30 p.m. at the Ketcham Community Center on the college campus.
Coach Webster has coached high school basketball for 45 years, including stints at Tri-County High School (Jamesport), Penney High School (Hamilton) and Kearney High School. He has coached both boys and girls during his tenure and has coached at every class from Class 1 through Class 5. He accumulated 903 total wins with 742 of those wins being in girls basketball, making him the winningest girls’ coach in the state of Missouri. Webster has been honored by KMZU and the Greater Kansas City Basketball Coaches Association and was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall-of-Fame last year.

Please join the Trenton High School Key Club and Barnes-Baker Automotive, Saturday, September 8th, between 8 am and 5 pm , at Trenton High School for the Ford Drive 4UR School.

2012 Poker Run

The Chamber annual motorcycle poker run was scheduled for Saturday, September 1st. However, due to unfavorable weather conditions, the poker run has been postponed until Saturday, September 8th . Registration will still be held at the old Grundy County Jail building beginning at 9am. All events are the same, only the date has changed. We hope to see you all there!

The Chamber 2nd Annual “Jailbreak” Motorcycle Poker Run is coming up this weekend, September 1st. The run will begin at the old county jail in Trenton and travel a roughly 100-mile route with stops in Jamesport, Gallatin, Bethany, Princeton and end in Trenton at the Coca-Cola Bottling Plant. $20 per single rider and $30 per couple (on same bike). Fee includes poker hand, souvenir photo and catered lunch at Trenton Coca-Cola Bottling Plant after the run. Lots of door prizes to be given away as well! Donations for City Christmas Decor Sought

There is no place like home for the holidays. Christmas trees and decorated homes are found throughout the town, store windows adorned with holiday displays create the spirit of giving, and each of our churches reminds us of the real reason for the season. The only thing missing from this beautiful setting are attractive decorations to line the main streets of Trenton.
A committee has been formed and has selected four styles of illuminated snowflakes that will alternate with brightly colored red banners accented with miniature snowflakes and mounted on the utility poles. These will replace the existing decorations which are no longer attractive. Christmas 2012 and many years to come will be remembered with festive decorations making Trenton extra special for the holidays.
Banners will be purchased in two different styles for $55 and $75 each. The lighted snowflakes will cost $250 each and together these decorations will cost nearly $15,000 for a total of 125 decorations throughout ...
