Inauguration Set For Dr. Joanna Anderson

State Fair Community College will hold a public inauguration for President Dr. Joanna Anderson at 2 o'clock on Sunday, September 29th in the Stauffacher Center for the Fine Arts Theatre on the Sedalia campus. A reception is planned immediately after the ceremony.

Anderson will deliver an inaugural address. Also sharing brief remarks will be representatives of the SFCC Board of Trustees; the Student Government Association; the SFCC Foundation; and the college’s classified, professional and staff associations, as well as Dr. Brent Bates, vice president for educational and student support services.

American Legion Post 642 will present the colors and the SFCC Chamber Choir will perform.

Anderson took over July 1 as president. She came to SFCC from Casper College, a community college of about 5,000 students in Casper, Wyo., where she had served since 2007 as vice president of Student Services.

Before taking that position, she spent 21 years administering multiple departments at North Central Missouri College in Trenton, including serving as dean of Student Services, director of Public Relations, director of Admissions, and as an adjunct instructor. She has more than 26 years’ experience working in the community college setting.

Anderson received a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis in 2010 from the University of Missouri; a Master of Science degree in Education Curriculum and Instruction in 1998 from William Woods University; a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Journalism in 1978 from the University of Missouri; and an Associate of Arts degree in 1976 from Trenton Junior College (North Central Missouri College).
