A spokesman reported that with the Saint Luke’s health system initiative to cut over 100 million dollars in expense by year 2015, and due to reimbursement changes in health care, Wright Memorial has to look at services that cost money.
The health fair and health screenings is described as one of the areas Wright Memorial has been losing money. The spokesman added even with the higher fees for the screenings, the hospital still expects to lose money on tests—just not as much.
