This afternoon, students from the Spickard school release balloons in the city park at 1 o'clock and then take part in games at 1:30. Tonight, there's a barbecue pork and beef supper at 6 o'clock. The cost is adults seven dollars and children three dollars.

Crowning of the king, queen, prince, and princess is at 7 o'clock. The Silverado band from the Unionville and Green City area returns to Spickard for an 8 p-m performance. The 50-50 drawing is tonight at 10 o'clock. Many more events are tomorrow and Sunday for the Spickard Fall Festival.

At the 28th annual Chautauqua on the square in Gallatin, music tonight features the Toneys from Gallatin in a 6:30 performance. Then at 8:30, “United by Fire” is the name of the performing group. Both shows will be at the main stage, north side of the square.

The chautauqua includes a three-day flea market (today, Saturday and Sunday). Many
activities are planned tomorrow and Sunday in Gallatin.
