Young Princeton Lady Tigers Aiming To Shake Up The GRC

The Princeton Lady Tigers, a program with some of its deepest young talent in recent years, are hopeful of making positive strides in the Grand River Conference in 2013.

However, in order to reach their goals, the young players in the program, particularly those with varsity experience from last year, will need to improve their consistency both offensively and defensively from 2012.

Head Coach Chrystal Mayfield says with last year's up and down campaign behind them, big improvements are anticipated with PHS:

Paige is one of many Lady Tigers who received significant varsity time a season ago, both in softball and basketball, leading Coach Mayfield to say that improvement isn't necessarily hoped for, but it is more an expectation:

Much of Princeton's success this season will be determined in the pitching circle, where Chelsie Jones returns as a more-seasoned pitcher than a season ago. She has worked over the off-season on adding a screwball into her arsenal. Coach Mayfield has warned her team to not be so focused on post-season play, that they miss the journey through conference action:

Princeton opens the softball season at Albany on Tuesday, September 3rd. Gallatin visits Princeton in the Lady Tigers home opener on Thursday, September 5th. As in past years, all Grand River Conference softball games will start at 5:30 PM.
